What this guide will not do, is summarize story events. If this isn’t a concern, then just know that Tormentum has a fairly binary morality system, so one playthrough should give you an idea of what to do if you want to get the other achievements. Believe me, the morality is less obvious when playing the game unaided for the first time. ![]() Reading this guide, however, could lessen the impact of the story for you by removing that state of uncertainty. When playing the game naturally, some of the choices seem less clear. Key items can be missed, puzzles can still be confusing, and what about those moral choices? I should note that a major part of Tormentum’s experience is the kind of choices you make. Tormentum already provides in-game hints for many of its puzzles, but that doesn’t completely eliminate the challenge. If you’d like my full thoughts on the game, see my review, but here I will endeavor to provide guidance for it. I am pretty sure it is legal when you take these as long as it is for your own private use only.Tormentum: Dark Sorrow is a powerful, haunting, and surreal world that manages to create a sense of unease in the player without a whole lot of posturing. PS:The soundtrack can be found un-encrypted in the game's files, with nearly zero search (but sadly only as. Giving an option to "die" would kill this prinicple.Īlso, some sort of third path than good/bad ending would be highly appreciated, some way to question the final judge, and not accept your destiny. One of the main gameplay aspects of this game is it's relative easy-ness (if that's even a word), in exchange for no checkpoints/saveslots. Tormentum - (3) I 100% agree with your opinion of the story being closed, so yeah, there has to come a "spin-off" then, but permanent failing wouldn't do any good, i think. And if you still want to go with the same sort of theme, then when you die, you would just end up in limbo with no where to go, or maybe make it possible to make it out of limbo, which then put you back at an earlier state/checkpoint. ![]() That sort of ambiguity would actually be preferable, as that would add an extra layer. I thought, since I released the woman, that if I released him he would just turn and kill me. But the art and mood made me not want to do or made me do stuff, because I thought it may be bad, like releasing the jester. I know that the story in this doesn't really fit with that. ![]() Originally posted by Tigon_3rd:I would actually like to be able to fail. This story is closed, but whose to say there can't be others that have to go through similar things. So yeah, please include a soundtrack next time, either with the game or as an optional buy.Īnd I would not want a direct sequel, only a sequel as in name and style. And if you still want to go with the same sort of theme, then when you die, you would just end up in limbo with no where to go, or maybe make it possible to make it out of limbo, which then put you back at an earlier state/checkpoint.Īlso the music was incredible. ![]() I would actually like to be able to fail.
